James “Travis” Morris, 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2026. Born on June 18, 1950, Travis lived a full and meaningful life centered around faith, family, and the simple joys that brought people together. On October 20, 1973, he married the love of his life, Patsy Brown Morris. Together, they shared 52 wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion.
Travis was a loving husband, father, and proud “T-Pa.” He is survived by his wife, Patsy; his daughters, Nicole Day (Matt) and Ashley Gean (Kyle); and his cherished grandchildren, Sawyer and Sadie Gean, and Miller Day. His family was his greatest joy, and he never missed an opportunity to be present, whether cheering from the sidelines, offering guidance, or simply spending time together. He is also survived by his brother, Eugene Morris (Janie); his sister-in-law, Peggy Saint; nieces and nephews Jamie Wylie (Jeff), Keith Morris (Vicki), Suzanne Mothershed (John), Mike West (Tanya), Brant Llewellyn, Allison Llewellyn, and Justin Llewellyn (Ashlie) and their families; along with many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayley and Minnie Morris; his beloved niece, Bridgett West; and his brothers-in-law, Jimmy Brown and Jimmy Saint.
Travis retired from International Paper after 33 years of dedicated service, a testament to his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family. He grew up at of Wesley Chapel UMC and later became a member of Cross Point Church, where his faith continued to grow throughout his life.
Travis lived life to the fullest. He found peace in the outdoors, whether hunting, playing a round of golf, or spending time on his farm riding his John Deere tractor. He was a devoted coach for many years, pouring his heart into coaching baseball, softball, and football, leaving a lasting impact on countless young athletes.
A passionate Alabama fan, Travis especially loved Alabama football and rarely missed a game. He also had a gift in the kitchen… his famous jalapeño poppers were a staple at every holiday and family gathering, always requested and always enjoyed.
More than anything, Travis was known for his strength, resilience, and love for his family. He fought the good fight, never gave up, and left behind a legacy of perseverance and faith. We find comfort in knowing he is now in heaven, reunited with loved ones who have gone before him.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Wylie, Keith Morris, Steve Bevis, David Herron, Kyle Gean, Matt Day, John Mothershed, and Mike West.
Celebration of life will be Saturday, March 28, 2026 in the Fellowship Hall of Wesley Chapel Church. The family kindly requests casual attire or comfortable dress, as this will be a celebration of his life
