Helen Agnes McKernan Mitchell, 88, formerly of Buffalo, New York, passed away peacefully at her home in Huntsville, Alabama. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Mitchell; loving daughter of the late Dennis and Geraldine (Brown); dear sister of Patrick and Dennis McKernan (Linda); dear sister-in-law of Stephen (Judy), Paul (the late Gloria), the late Richard (Lorna), and the late Mary Jane (William). She is survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was very active in the community and had numerous friends particularly from the various bowling leagues she participated in over the past few decades. She was a cherished sister and friend, and her presence will be greatly missed.
Visitation for family and friends at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 625 Airport Rd SW, Huntsville, AL will be held on June 22 at 9:00 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Huntsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Helen’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
