Hazel L. Chapman Profile PhotoHazel L. Chapman, age 88, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023, in Columbia, Tennessee.

Hazel was born on September 11, 1934, to the late Looney Chapman and Bertha Allen Chapman.

He was a faithful member of Summertown Church of Christ. He was employed at Sequatchie Concrete Service until his retirement. After his retirement, he devoted his life to his wife and farming. He took pride in his hard work, gardening, and crop farming. With any extra time, he would go out of his way to help others. He was a very generous and loving man. He was treasured as a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Lynn Foster; four grandchildren: John Mark (Desiree) Foster, Tyler Foster, Evan (Rachel) Chapman, Sarah Kate Bailey; great-grandchildren: Ava Chapman, Liam Chapman, Ian Foster, Ryan Foster, and Charlotte Foster; and his brother: Forest Chapman; nephew: Doug (Glenda) Chapman; great-niece: Kellie (Brent) Blackwood; great-great niece and nephews: Drake, Sidney, and Ryder; special church family: Tim and Julie Bacon and their children, Addy & Anna Kate, as well as Steven and Teresa Wilkinson, and their children, Eric, Matt, Rhea, and Waylon.

In addition to his parents, Hazel is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alma Jean Chapman; sons: Allen Chapman, and Keith Chapman; siblings: Ellewood Chapman, Marvin Chapman, Johnny Chapman, Mimi Nelson, Horace Chapman, Carl Chapman, and Melvin Chapman.

The family will be receiving friends and visitors at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM, then we will proceed to Summertown Cemetery for a graveside service at 3:00 PM.

The care of Mr. Hazel Chapman and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Williams Funeral Home.
