Dr. Guy E. Graves was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. As both a chemist and software engineer, Guy’s brilliant mind was matched only by an insatiable thirst for knowledge. This was evident in his impressive personal library, which contained thousands of meticulously cataloged books. The staff at his local library store knew him by name and by the book catalog he always carried. Guy could discuss almost any topic with depth and enthusiasm.

A life-long nature enthusiast, he knew and participated in all the hunting and fishing seasons, rain or shine, cold or colder. These adventures resulted in delicious meals he made for his family, featuring freshly baked bread, venison stews and freshly caught fish. When not cooking or exploring nature, Guy could often be found engrossed in fishing tournaments or carefully crafting fishing lures. Guy delighted in sending notes to his grandson and many emails back and forth to his daughter.

Dr. Guy E. Graves is survived by his loving wife, sister, daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. He will be greatly missed.

His service will be held at Holy Spirit Church in Huntsville, Alabama on Saturday, January 18th, with family visitation starting at 11 a.m. mass starting at 12 p.m.
