Glatha “Kathleene” Broadway passed away September 25, 2023 in Lacey’s Spring, AL at the age of 90. Mrs. Broadway was born September 8, 1933 in Henderson County, TN to Charles Emerson Swafford and Patty Frances Fuller Swafford. She was the loving wife of 54 years to JB Broadway, a devoted mother of 6 children, 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Broadway is survived by a brother, Ray Swafford of Dover, TN; a sister, Sue (Tommy) Baumgardner of Cedar Grove, TN; six children: Bobby (Shirley) Broadway of Arab, AL; Patsey (Shelby) Sloan of Lacey’s Spring, AL; Joyce (Robert) Winkles of Prospect, TN; James (Deborah) Broadway of Union Grove, AL, Charles Broadway of Union Grove, AL and Rickey Broadway of Lexington, TN; 13 grandchildren and a host of great and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Broadway; her parents, Charles Emerson and Patty Fuller Swafford; brothers, Robert A. L. Swafford, Hoover Swafford and Cornelius (Neil) Swafford; sisters: Irene Gately and June Smith.
A visitation for Kathleene will be from 11:00 a.m until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Morgan City. The funeral service will begin immediately following at 1:00. Brother Gene Woodard will be officiating. Burial will be in Brookwood Cemetery in Arab, Alabama.
