Georgia Man Arrested On 76 Child Sexual Abuse Charges In Franklin County

RUSSELLVILLE-On April 13, 2026, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office released information regarding the arrest of Abigail Marie Roberts on multiple serious sex offense charges. Since that time, the investigation has continued and resulted in warrants being issued for Micheal Clinton Chambers, 26, of Carrollton, Georgia.

After obtaining the warrants, Franklin County investigators traveled to Randolph County, Alabama, where they worked with the Randolph County Sheriff’s

Office to search several locations for Chambers. During the investigation, it was determined that Chambers had returned to Carrollton, Georgia.

With the help of the Carrollton Police Department, and using a description of the vehicle he was believed to be in, Chambers was located and detained on behalf of Franklin County authorities.
Chambers agreed to be extradited to Franklin County, Alabama. He was transported and booked into the Franklin County Detention Center on April 23, 2026, at approximately 10:54 PM. He is currently charged with the following:
30 counts of Dissemination of Child Pornography
30 counts of Production of Child Pornography
11 counts of Sexual Abuse of a Child Under 12
3 counts of Sodomy, First Degree
1 count of Directing a Child to Engage in Sexual Intercourse/Sodomy
1 count of Enticing a Child for Immoral Purposes
We understand there is strong public interest in this case. However, not all details can be released at this time, out of respect for the victim and the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
This case is still active, and additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the following agencies for their assistance: the Franklin County Department of Human Resources, the Cramer Center, the Franklin County District Attorney’s Office, 25th Judicial Circuit Digital Forensics, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, and the Carrollton Police Department.
