Geneva Morris Massey “Dot”, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 19, 2021. Dot, 98, was born in Childersburg, Alabama August 14, 1922, to Addie Mae Johnson Morris and William Madison Morris. Dot was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Joseph Calvin Massey, her parents, four sisters and a brother.
Dot was an active member of Willowbrook Baptist Church for 29 years. She and J.C. enjoyed singing in the sanctuary choir and Keenager activities lead by Doug Merchant. Dot was a member of the Grace Sunday School Class and was past president of the African Violet Society.
Survivors include four daughters, Betty Kemp (Ron, deceased), Sandra Sumrall (George) of Huntsville, AL, Pam Pell (David) of Owens Cross Roads, AL, and Karen Morgan (Ed) of Madison, MS. Dot was affectionately known as Gram by her 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 21 at Maple Hill Cemetery.
