Frances Kilpatrick passed into the Lord’s care while in residence at Magnolia Trace in Huntsville, AL. She was predeceased by her husband of sixtyeight years, Wendell L. Kilpatrick.
Frances is survived by her three daughters: Linda Winters (Ken), Huntsville, AL; Bonnie Kilpatrick, Houston, TX; Joy Ouellette (Dennis), Kennesaw, GA. Frances is also survived by three grandchildren and two great grandchildren: Terri Winters, Atlanta, GA; Stacey Cantrell, Huntsville, AL; Dan Foos, Houston, TX; Nathaniel Cantrell, Huntsville, AL; and Melissa Boylen, Huntsville, AL.
Frances was an educator for twenty-five years for Alachua County, Florida. She attended Florida State College for Women and was granted a provisional license to teach during WWII. After raising her family she received a Master’s degree from the University of Florida and practiced in the classroom in several schools in Gainesville, FL. She also worked as a homebound teacher with children unable to attend their schools. Frances finished her career as the Coordinator of Alachua County’s Homebound/Hospital Instructional Program.
Upon retirement Frances and Wendell traveled the world accruing mileage to equal sixteen trips around the globe. Frances created scrapbooks of all the fascinating journeys. She was a voracious reader and shared her passion for the written word with her daughters.
There will be no local service, but a graveside service will be held in Jay, Florida, the hometown of both Frances and Wendell Kilpatrick.
