The tourism staff is looking for residents who are knowledgeable about the area, Wilson said. Duties will include working the Visitor Information Desk; welcoming and assisting visitors; giving directions; and providing information on accommodations, dining, attractions and events. Volunteers will also conduct facility tours and organize materials for the information desk.
Shifts will be four to six hours per day. Volunteers will need to be flexible, including working weekends. Training and familiarization tours will be provided of area attractions, hotels and restaurants as preparation for this position.
