Eugene Dennis Folse, Sr. passed away Sept 9 of natural causes at the age of 77 years.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Janet Esteve Folse, Son Eugene, Jr., Daughter-in-law Monica Lynn Folse, Daughter Elizabeth Catherine Novoa, Son-in-law Michael Novoa, Grandchildren Adam Novoa, Evan Novoa, Gabriel Novoa, Samuel Novoa, and Sarah Vorgert, brother William, nieces, nephews, esp his caregiver Patrick Esteve, Jr. and hundreds of friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents Julia and Norman Folse, his sister June, and his brothers Norman and Sidney.  He was a longtime resident of Marrero, LA but moved to Huntsville, AL 15 years ago.  He was a retired, Jefferson Parish school bus driver (Bus 143), and independent businessman (Times-Picyune newsdealer, Tastee Donuts number 41).  He was an adult leader of Troop 394 in Marrero.  Services will be Monday, September 14, 2020, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Huntsville, Al and October 3, 2020, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Westwego.  Visitation in Huntsville will be at 9:am.  He was a man who loved his family, his faith and who loved a good joke!  Contrary to his desire that his ashes be spread over the newspaper machines in Algiers or the suggestion of his ashes being thrown from a Mardi Gras float, he will be interred in Westwego, LA.  In lieu of flowers, please consider masses.
