Dewey Odell Edwards, 72, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at his home. He was born May 19, 1944, in Corinth to Carroll Edwards, Sr., and Bertha Mae Hollins Kennedy. Known as “Slough Foot,” Odell was a retired truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, riding four wheelers, and spending time with family and friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 8, at the Walker Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Reeves and Bro. Billy Nichols, Jr., officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in entrusted with the arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Bobbie Brown (Matthew) of Golden and Michelle Johnson (Ken) of Fulton; four grandchildren, Caleb and Chandler Brown and Gracie and Landon Johnson; three brothers, Barto Edwards (Mary) of Collinville, Ill., Robert Edwards (Alice) of Belmont, and Travis Edwards (Teresa) of Haleyville, Ala.; several nieces and nephews; and caregivers and special friends, Ethel Cromeans and Haley Langford.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Carroll Edwards, Jr.; and one sister, Virginia Bridges.
Pallbearers will be Tom Spivey, Tim Edwards, Greg Edwards, Jimmy Allison, Scottie Brown, and Damion Langford.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Edwards, Wayne Edwards, Tyler Edwards, Josh Spivey, and Bradley Brown.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 7, at the Walker Baptist Church.
