Mr. Derrell Louis Thomas, 75, passed away peacefully at his home on June 1, 2026.
Born on January 28, 1951, to Roe Louis Thomas and Marvelene McLemore Thomas, Derrell lived a life filled with family, music, and the things he loved most. He was a devoted father and grandfather who cherished the time he spent with his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Callie DeWeese (David); grandchildren, Harper DeWeese and Gibson DeWeese; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Derrell was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Mike Thomas and Jack Thomas.
An avid fan of Alabama football, Derrell rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on the Crimson Tide. He also had a deep appreciation for music, especially the songs of Neil Young and the timeless sounds of classic rock. His love for music and sports brought him joy throughout his life and created many fond memories with family and friends. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
Derrell will be remembered for his sense of humor, his love for those closest to him, and the simple pleasures that made life meaningful. His memory will be treasured by all who knew and loved him.
