Photo of Denton David Walker Denton Walker, age 80 of Vinemont, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2025 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born April 12, 1945 to David and Lona Walker. Denton was an avid reader, he loved sifi movies, GREAT cartoons, home and yard remodeling shows, he was a great BBQ cooker, and loved listening to great country music. His greatest passion was playing the steel guitar in various country music bands. Denton loved to take road trips to see the beautiful mountains and walk with his love Linda holding hands on the beach. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison. Mr. Walker will lie in state Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Sardis Missionary No. 2 Baptist Church (Sardis Community) from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. The service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Denton is survived by his wife of 60 years, Linda Sue Morgan Walker; sons, Derrick Eugene (Kim) Walker and Russell Kent (Joy) Walker; grandchildren, Tara (Tony) Calabria, Dustin Jones, Tiffany, Riley, Abel, Megan, Creasey, Phenoix, Atreyhu, Dakota, Emory; great granddaughter, Evelyn Calabria; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, David Lessie Walker, mother, Lona Denton; seven “Walker” brothers and one sister; brothers, Orvis White and Micheal White; nephew, Richard White; father-in-law, Leonard Morgan “Frosty”; mother-in-law, Verdeen Lee Morgan “Dib”; and a host of nieces and nephews.
