Cynthia Sides BakerIn Loving Memory of Cynthia “Cindy” Renée Baker
June 5, 1957 – June 4, 2025
Cynthia “Cindy” Renée Baker, 67, of Sumiton, Alabama, passed away unexpectedly at her home on June 4, 2025, just one day before her 68th birthday. Her passing came as a shock to all who loved her, and she leaves behind a deep and lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

Cindy was the most loving and devoted wife, mother, and friend—a woman of unwavering faith and compassion. She is survived by her beloved son, Jonathan Cole, whom she loved more than anything in this world. He was the joy of her life and the truest reflection of her generous heart and resilient spirit
She is also survived by her stepchildren, Crystal Elder (Bryan) and Trey Baker (Megan), as well as her treasured grandson, Lincoln Baker, who brought light and joy to her life.

Cindy was preceded in death by her husband, Felton “Bud” Baker, with whom she shared a deep and lasting bond, and her parents, Tommy Sides and Mary Elizabeth Phillips, who lovingly shaped the woman she became.

To those who knew her, Cindy was more than a friend—she was like family. Her warmth, loyalty, and compassion built lifelong bonds that spanned decades. She had a remarkable gift for making others feel seen, heard, and loved. Her friendships were rooted in honesty, laughter, and unwavering support, and she touched countless lives with her generous spirit.

Cindy lived her life deeply rooted in her Christian faith. Her trust in God guided her every step, and her strength came from an unshakable belief in His grace. Whether she was praying for someone in need, offering a shoulder to cry on, or simply sharing her light, she lived as an example of God’s love on earth.

Services to celebrate Cindy’s life will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at New Horizon Memorial Chapel, followed by burial at Morgan Cemetery in Sumiton. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

As we say goodbye, we hold close the warmth of her memory and the strength of her love. Cindy was truly the best of us—devoted, faithful, and endlessly giving. Her spirit lives on in her son, her stepchildren, her grandson, and in all who had the privilege to love her.
