Colbert County to Host Alabama Crappie Trail Fishing Tournament

SHEFFIELD–The Alabama Crappie Trail Fishing Tournament is set for April 12-13, 2024 at Riverfront
Park in Sheffield, on Pickwick and Wilson Lakes. This tournament promises to be a thrilling competition
for anglers while offering a fun-filled atmosphere for families.
Keith Cole, Coordinator for the Alabama Crappie Trail, added, “Our mission is to offer a competitive
fishing trail that is enjoyable for the entire family. We’re looking forward to bringing anglers together in
this beautiful setting and making a positive impact on the local community.”
The tournament welcomes competitors of all skill levels, with Division 1 featuring a remarkable $5,000
guaranteed first-place payout and Division 2 offering a commendable $500 top prize. Although the
tournament is just around the corner, registration remains open for fishing teams interested in
participating. Various entry and membership options are available to accommodate all participants.
How to Participate:
• To register: Email kc.crappiemasters@yahoo.com with your team name, payment option, and
selected tournament date.
• Entry Fees: Division 1 is $250, Division 2 is $100, with additional options for Big Fish Entry at $25
and a yearly membership at $50.
• Payment Methods: Accepting Cash App ($CMasters2022) and PayPal
(kc.crappiemasters@yahoo.com), with a note to add $5 for PayPal transactions to cover fees.

Susann Hamlin, President and CEO of Colbert County Tourism, invites the public to experience the
excitement firsthand. “Join us at Riverfront Park at 3:30 pm on both days for the weigh-ins! We’re excited
to partner with this tournament and look forward to seeing everyone out and about enjoying the
outdoors in our community this weekend,” Hamlin expressed.
