Clara Margaret Stewart, age 88 of Cowan, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Cowan on August 27, 1932 to the late Henry and Gladys (McKnight) Bohanan. A dedicated homemaker, she enjoyed flower gardening and sitting on her front porch swing with her dog. In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Douglas Stewart; sons, Doug Stewart and Dale Stewart; and brothers, Walter Bohanan, James Bohanan, and Jerry Welch. She is survived by her loving daughter, Lora (Tim) Mead of Cowan; grandchildren, Johnny (Robin) Stewart, GySgt USMC David (Courtney) Mead, James Stewart, and Zaine (Katelyn) Mead; sister, Gertrude (Carl) Robbins of Clarkrange; very special sister-in-law, Sue Welch of Winchester; great-grandchildren, Austin Stewart, Megan Stewart, Layla Mead, and Connor Mead; and daughter-in-laws, Shirley Stewart of Antioch, Illinois, and Kimberly Porterfield of Colorado.
