Cheryl Facette HeadCheryl Facette Head, age 65, passed away on December 18, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on November 12, 1960, to the late Robert James Facette of Superior, Wisconsin, and Catherine Adams of Duluth, Georgia.

Cheryl was a devoted wife, loving mother, and adoring Nana whose life centered around her family. Her greatest joy came from the people she loved most, and she gave her heart fully to her husband, son, and grandchildren. After many years in Ellenwood, Georgia, Cheryl moved to Elkmont, Alabama, to be closer to her grandchildren—something she considered one of the happiest chapters of her life. However, the move never diminished her love for the Georgia Bulldogs.

Cheryl shared a deep and enduring love with her husband, Ricky Head. Their marriage on August 7, 1986, was built on friendship, laughter, and unwavering support. To Cheryl, Ricky was not only her husband but her true partner in life, whether enjoying the outdoors or simply being at home with family.

As a mother, Cheryl was a constant source of strength for her son, David Head. She was immensely proud of him and remained one of his biggest supporters, always ready with guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love.

Cheryl was especially devoted to her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Her love for them was boundless, and she poured her heart into being present, nurturing, and celebrating all that they were becoming.

In addition to her devotion to family, Cheryl dedicated 34 years of service to the State of Georgia, spending most of her career with the Department of Human Resources until she retired in June 2016. Then continuing to work part time with DBHDD and then with the Department of Public Health (DPH) where she continued working until her passing. Throughout her career in various financial offices, Cheryl was known for her integrity, quick action, and unwavering determination to help others. She was deeply respected by colleagues who knew they could always count on her, not only for answers, but for follow-through and genuine care. The friendships she formed at work became an extension of her family, and she will be greatly missed for both her professionalism and her kind, steady presence.

Cheryl played softball throughout her youth and continued well into adulthood. She also loved camping, boating, fishing, horseback riding, and spending time at the beach—often sharing these passions with family, including her niece, Melanie Brown, and family, whom she loved like a daughter.

Cheryl is survived by her beloved husband, Ricky Head; her son, David Head; her cherished grandchildren, Arabella Kaylynn Jones and Liam Ryker Head; and her loving nieces and nephews and all of their children.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Patricia Groff, Dottie Bowen, and Donna Beaty.

Cheryl will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to family, and her steadfast commitment to helping others. Her legacy of love and service lives on through the many lives she touched.
