Charles David (Brink) Brinkerhoff went to be with the Lord, November 1, 2022 after a lengthy illness.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Maynard Roeliff Brinkerhoff and Mary Nadah Sheehan Brinkerhoff, and a baby brother who passed away at birth. He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Janet Lee Thompson Brinkerhoff; his son, Mark Lee, and daughter-in-law Zorana Stricevic Brinkerhoff; grandchildren AnnaSophia Joy and Bennett Asher Brinkerhoff; grandchildren Aaric Rylan and Liam Carson Brinkerhoff, and their mother, Anastasia Maxwell; sister-in-law Lisa Ann Thompson Stagg (Mark); nephew Joshua Stagg; niece Sarah Stagg Brown (Brennon); their children, Hudson, Emery, and Caroline Brown; and Mark and Zorana’s family, Grant, Emma, Amelia, Liam, Cara, and Neeve Janke.

He was born in Corpus Christi, TX, moved to Shreveport, LA, and graduated from Bellaire High School in Houston, TX.

 

He served as a medic in the United States Army and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Louisiana Tech in Ruston, LA, where he met the love of his life, Janet.

He was a computer programmer for over forty years for companies such as IBM, M&S Computing, Intergraph, ADS and CAS, and was among the thousands of engineers whose efforts sent astronauts to the moon.

He was a golfer, a bowler, an angler, and a geocacher. He enjoyed playing bridge and Texas hold’em, and was an avid Crimson Tide fan.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, role model, hero, and friend. He will be missed terribly.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 6, 1:00pm, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home in Huntsville, and a chapel service will follow at 2:00pm. Internment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery.
