FLORENCE – University of North Alabama students, faculty, and staff can add their Mane
Card to their Apple Wallet or Google Pay and use their iPhones, Apple Watches, or Android Phones to access campus buildings, purchase meals, and more in a convenient, safe, and secure way.
“With the addition of this new technology for campus, UNA is just the third higher education institution in Alabama to have this in place,” said Linda Brocato, the Mane Card Manager. “This is a real benefit to students, faculty, and staff as it is one more measure we have implemented to provide secure and convenient use of their ID for a wide variety of daily transactions.”
With Mobile IDs, students can complete any action that would have previously required a physical ID while on campus with just their iPhone, Apple Watch, or Android phone. Students simply place their device near a reader to enter residence halls, the Student Recreation Center, to purchase meals, make purchases at the UNA Bookstore, print documents, and more.
The Mane Card on iPhone, Apple Watch, or Android phones is also protected by two-factor authentication to ensure only the student can access their own account, even if someone else knows their password.
To set up their mobile Mane Card, UNA students, faculty, and staff must first download the eAccounts app, authenticate with their UNA credentials, and then add their Mane Card to their Apple Wallet or Google Pay.
