It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Byron Keith Cox also known as “Pun’kin” to his family and close friends. Keith entered into eternal rest at home on Friday, March 11, 2022 at the age of 62. Keith was born June 17, 1959 to Jerry and Margie Cox. He has been a long-time resident of Huntsville, AL and leaves behind a multitude of family and friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Margie Cox, sister, Monda (Johnny) Allen and brother, Dale (Debbie) Cox. He is survived by his two children, Miranda Cox and Dustin Cox (Krystle); three grandchildren, Marley Partain, Kaisen Cox and Deven Cox; brother, Jeff Cox (Brigette), first wife and friend Brenda Franklin; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In 1988 Keith joined the IBEW local 558 union hall as an electrician where he remained a member until his passing. Keith loved riding his motorcycle and all things Harley Davidson. He lived the motto “Live to Ride, Ride to Live” to the fullest. He is described by so many of his family and friends as a kind and genuine person. He is best known for his big mischievous smile, infectious laugh and larger than life presence. Keith had a huge gentle heart and was a loving, supportive father, papa, brother, son, uncle and friend. We are blessed to have shared our life with him and are better people because of knowing him. He left a lasting impression on all of us. We will forever hold tight each and every memory we made with him.
The family would like to express a heartfelt and special thank you to Charlie Webb, Keith’s friend of more than 20 years, for helping watch over and care for Keith alongside the family. We extend our gratitude to all of those who helped assist the family in their efforts to care for Keith during his final days.
His family will celebrate his life and homecoming on Saturday March 19, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. The memorial service will be held at Laughlin Service Funeral Home located at 2320 Bob Wallace Avenue Huntsville, AL 35805. Family and friends are invited to visit and share remembrances of our beloved Pun’kin. The family also encourages any and all visitors to wear their riding gear and of course to ride their motorcycles to the service in tribute to Keith and his love for motorcycles.
