WASHINGTON, D.C. – Friday afternoon, Congressman Mo Brooks (AL-05) voted for H.R. 1960, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2014. The NDAA passed by a vote of 315 to 108.
Congressman Brooks said, “I voted for the National Defense Authorization Act for FY2013-14 because it restores defense spending to pre-sequestration levels, ending a series of harmful cuts to our military that threaten to undermine our national security. For more than two years I have fought continuously against sequestration. Ending sequestration as soon as possible is vital to America’s security and economic stability, and I am very pleased that the National Defense Authorization Act FY14 will stop these harmful cuts.”
Brooks continued, “The NDAA FY14 also includes my amendment to prevent our $153 billion dollar missile defense program from being used as a diplomatic bargaining tool by government bureaucrats. In addition, this NDAA supports my efforts to maintain the Conventional Prompt Global Strike and Advanced Hyper Sonic Weapon Program, to which Redstone Arsenal proudly contributes. Also included are my submissions supporting NASA’s Liquid Rocket Engine Technology.”
Congressman Brooks is a member of the House Armed Services Committee, sitting on the Strategic Forces and Oversight and Investigations Subcommittees. He is the founder and co-chair of the Army Aviation Caucus.

I thought Mo Brooks was supposed to be for limited government not more???
