Bobbie Jean Beddingfield Baugher shed her earthly tent and received her Heavenly reward on June 6th, 2026 at home surrounded by family. She was born September 19th,1938 to John and Eula Clardy Beddingfield. She grew up in the Cross Key community and graduated from Elkmont High School at age 17 in 1956. She married Melvin Eugene “Buddy” Baugher on November 23rd, 1956 and would have celebrated 70 years of marriage in November this year. Bobbie and Buddy raised 3 daughters together.
Mrs. Baugher worked at Athens Lingerie in her younger years, then spent her time as a stay-at-home wife and mother. Many Athens ladies will remember her from Wilson’s Fabric on the square, where she worked for 28 years, until the store closed in 2005.
Mrs. Baugher was preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers, and 3 sisters. She is survived by her husband, Melvin “Buddy” Baugher; 3 daughters, Sheila (Scott) Richardson, Sandra (Brad) Casteel, and Vickie (Danny) Holland; 6 grandchildren, Stefan and Gavin Richardson, Kyle (MaCall) Casteel, Alex (Kelsey) Casteel, Gabi Hembree- (Danny) Lee, and Vivien Hembree. Bonus grandchildren, Derek (Rothel) Holland, Jonathan Holland, Garrett (Alexis) Holland, Rebecca Adams Holland, and Ashtyn; great-grandson and the light of her life for the past 23 months, Banks Casteel; bonus great-grandchildren, Kelly and Nathan Holland; sister, Martha Floyd; and many, many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Baugher will be Stefan Richardson, Gavin Richardson, Kyle Casteel, Alex Casteel, Gabi Hembree-Lee, and Vivien Hembree.
The family would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to Hospice of Limestone County for the past 13 months; the most amazing Hospice nurse, Kegen Sullivan; and the caregivers who so lovingly and gently cared for our wife, mother, and grandmother: Connie Crafts, Arvina Colwell, and Alexandria Green.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Limestone Chapel Funeral home from 11am until 12:45pm on Wednesday, June 10th, 2026. Services will follow at 1pm in the Chapel with her grandchildren officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to Hospice of Limestone County, 405 S.
