Betty McCormack Terry, 88, of Florence, AL passed away at home surrounded by her family on Friday, August 4, 2023. She was a member of Underwood Baptist Church for over 58 years where she taught in the nursery. She loved the Lord, her family, and her Sunday School class. Her family remembers her cooking every day. She made the best chocolate pies, banana pudding, chicken and dumplings and the Thanksgiving dressing.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Neil Rogers and Christopher Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

Mrs. Terry was preceded in death by her parents, Roosevelt and Lena Mae McCormack; an infant sister, Judy Gail; and brother, Jimmy (Carolyn) McCormack.

She is survived by her husband, Paris Terry. August 27th would have been their 70th anniversary; they were sweethearts for 73 years; son, Dan (Sarah) of Russellville; daughter, Belinda Holt (Tim) of Florence; grandchildren, Stephanie Terry Rogers (Neil) of Russellville, Christopher Holt (Tiffany) of Florence, and Tiffany Terry of Russellville; great-grandchildren, Hailey and Griffin Rogers and Grace Ann and Jackson Holt; numerous nieces and nephews; and her close friends that were always checking on her, Pat Weaver, Carolyn Austin, Geraldine Hanback, and Marjorie Mitchell.

A special thank you to Hospice of North Alabama especially Matt Flannagin RN, Stephanie Clemmons, Lindsey Rideout RN, and her personal doctor, Nicholas Darby, MD. A very special thanks to Chick-fil-A of Florence for their kindness and generosity during her sickness. They have gone above and beyond to help our family. We will be forever grateful. Also, a special thanks to Paula Lindsey.
