Bessie Mae Keplinger Messer, age 88, of Phil Campbell, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at her residence.
Mrs. Messer was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Phil Campbell. She was a very talented taxidermist and spent several years perfecting her talent. She worked as a seamstress at Wrangler for several years as well. She loved to crotchet and was an avid reader. She was well loved and a friend to everyone. She leaves us good memories that we will cherish forever.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Royace Glenn Messer, Jr. (Nan), LaWanda Mason (Randy), Stanley Messer (Carol); grandchildren, Michael Mason (Kristen), Amy Graben (Alex), McKenzie Messer, Patrick Trapp, Matthew Trapp, Candace Trapp; great-grandchildren, Madden Mason, Lakely Mason, Gracyn Graben, Mia Graben; brothers, Jack Keplinger, Rayburn Keplinger (Martha); several nieces & nephews; and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Royace Glenn Messer, Sr., father, Archie Zelner Keplinger, mother, Evelyn Virginia Rich Keplinger; and grandson, Cody Trapp.
The visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Bro. Jeremy Seal officiating the service. The burial will be at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Phil Campbell.
