Dannie Carl Smith, age 75, of Tuscumbia (formerly of Belgreen) passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Helen Keller Hospital.
Dannie was funny, a jokester, and always had a story to tell. He was very proud of the fact he was almost thirty years sober. He was a member of Shady Grove Church of Christ and had just recently rededicated his life to Christ. He loved dove hunting and his horses. More than anything he loved being “Papaw” to his grandchildren who he adored.
The visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, Friday, June 13, 2025, at Spry Memorial Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 Friday, June 13, 2025, at Franklin Memory Gardens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jefferson & Lenice Louise (Hester) Smith; brothers, Nolen Smith, Jimmie Smith; and grandchildren, Jayden, Jordan, and Maysen Raye Smith.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his son, Jeffery Smith (Katye), his daughter, Stephanie Gandy (Steve); grandchildren, Lauren Hellums (Byron), Jackson Smith, Ryleigh Mae Smith; great-grandchild, Sloan Hellums; several nieces & nephews; and a host of friends.

Also, we want to thank the nurses and staff of Helen Keller ICU, especially Lanette and CJ for your support to our family.
