Bertha Mae McKinney Reed, age 75 of Decherd, passed away on December 21, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Tullahoma on October 20, 1948, to the late John Francis McKinney and Fannie Mae Sims. Bertha was a devoted homemaker and cherished her time with her family. She also enjoyed fishing, listening to music, and watching wrestling. Bertha will be remembered for funny sense of humor, always playing jokes and pranks on her family and friends. She attended the Estill Springs Church of Jesus Christ when she was able. Bertha is preceded in death by her parents, John Francis McKinney and Fannie Mae Sims; husband, Charles Edward Reed Sr.; son, Ronnie Reed; granddaughter, Chasdy Reanea Reed; sisters, Sarah Bradford. Martha Reed, Pauline McClure; and brothers, Clarence McKinney, and Johnnie McKinney. She is survived by her children, Teresa (Chris) Smith, Eddie (Marti) Reed, Chris Reed (Jamie Martenze); goddaughter, Kelsey Sisk; grandchildren, Rebecca, Renee, Chrystal, Douglas (Mandy), Luke, Jennie Mae, Dalton, Dakota, Camron, Richard, and Val; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Sallie Bradford, Lillie Reed; brothers, Walter McKinney, Henry McKinney; and several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, from 5pm-8pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 2pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
