Bertha Josephine Green Bertha Josephine Green was born on March 25, 1940 to Bill & Pearl Mitchell. She gained her angel wings on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at North Alabama Medical Center.

Bertha was a mother and daddy to her children. She loved her family, and worked hard to provide for them. She was often seen walking on the side of the road, picking up aluminum cans to make extra money. She was a fun and loving person, who will be missed by all who knew her.

The visitation will be 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2019 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will follow in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Lloyd Griffus and Bro. Jim Lumpkin officiating the service. Burial will be at Bethlehem Cemetery in Russellville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Pearl (Quillen) Mitchell; two brothers, Billy and Johnny Mitchell; and two sisters, Katie and Glendly Mitchell.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her three children, Glenda Moore, Ray Green, and Stevie Green, all of Russellville, along with two grandchildren, April & Corey Green; and two great-grandchildren, Zailynne Green and Case Jackson Potter; brother, Jimmy Mitchell (wife, Lynn) of Glencoe, Arkansas; five sisters, Frances Lewis (husband, Jim), Joyce Varney, all from Fort Worth, Texas; Margie Hill, Cinderella Borden, Janell Lane (husband, Gene), Bobbie West (husband, Hershel), all of Russellville, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

The pallbearers will be Corey Green, Randy Hill, Lucas Borden, Johnny Borden, Keith Lane, and John Lane.
