Bentley Graham Alexander, 65, of Jasper, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024.
Born and raised in Decatur, Ben dedicated 39 years of his career to 3M in Decatur, where he cherished lifelong friendships built there. Known for his quick wit and love of Rock-n-Roll, Ben delighted in telling jokes and engaging in impromptu karaoke sessions. He believed he could strike it rich on “Name that Tune.”
Ben and his wife Karen shared many adventures and chose to live their lives for “a story to tell.” His greatest joy was his four grandchildren, whom he loved teaching “tricks” and cheering on wholeheartedly. Ben will be remembered as a funny dude who brought laughter to all.
Ben was preceded in death by his son, Adam Alexander; his parents, Durell and Elese Alexander; and brothers-in-law, Boyd “Boo” Butler and Jerry Puckett.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Alexander; children, Abi (Jon) Bongiovanni, Kristen (Andy) McCay and Micah Lawson; grandchildren, Evan, Harper, River and Alexa; and sisters, Karen Butler and Jennifer Puckett.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 6 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home in Jasper, officiated by the Rev. Michael Jackson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to World Vision at P.O. Box 9716, Federal Way, WA 98063-9716. Ben and Karen found joy in sponsoring a child through World Vision and valued the global connections made through this organization.
