Barbara Reigel Barbara Ann Armstrong Reigel, 77, of Clarksville, Tenn., died April 15, 2021, peacefully in her home.

Barbara was born on Sept. 16, 1943, in Clarksville to the late Ira Edmondson Armstrong and the late Edna Altha Marie Faulkerson Armstrong Browning. She also was preceded in death by her older brother, Jerry Armstrong, and her youngest son, John Reigel. When her three children were young, Barbara was a stay-at-home mother. Later, she worked in the retail business for about 20 years. Then, she pursued her passion for floral arrangements by co-owning an independent floral shop in Springfield, Tenn. Next, she worked at Centerstone in Springfield feeding and caring for those with mental illnesses. After many years of service, she retired to spend time with her family.

A devout Christian, Barbara dedicated herself to Lighthouse Baptist Church, Springfield. She was active in the choir, where she enjoyed making a joyful noise for the Lord. She also enjoyed sharing the love of Jesus Christ by teaching Sunday School to children and working Vacation Bible School.

Barbara was an avid fan of Wheel of Fortune. Every morning, she enjoyed a cup of coffee with her breakfast while watching her favorite television shows. She was an expert craftswoman who excelled at sewing and crocheting. She enjoyed working with her hands, planting flowers and painting. She was a fierce competitor when cards or dominos were on the table. Her strong sense of wanderlust led her to travel internationally to Germany in her younger years, and across the country to California, Texas, and Arizona throughout her life. She also loved visiting the beach any chance she got. She couldn’t help but dance and sing along anytime her favorite singer, “Gorgeous” George Strait was on the radio. Barbara cooked meals that nourished the body, but also comforted the soul. Barbara was steadfast in her love for her family. Throughout her life, there was rarely a holiday where her dining table wasn’t surrounded by relatives and friends.

Barbara is survived by her ex-husband, Lowell Reigel, Sr. of Pembroke, Ky.; her children and their spouses, Lowell Reigel, Jr. and Dawn Reigel of Hopkinsville, Ky., and Judy Jasper and Richard Jasper of Oak Grove, Ky; and her grandchildren Edmund Daniels, of Clarksville, Tenn., Christopher Reigel, of Hopkinsville, Ky., Heather Moss and Ryan Moss of Hopkinsville, Ky., and Mari-Alice Jasper and Paul Russell of Oak Grove, Ky. She also is survived by her great-grandchildren Beatrice Olivia Reigel and Hunter Reigel.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Memorial Service. Event details will be announced at a later date. Floral arrangements may be sent to Judy Jasper at 101 Susan St., Clarksville, Tenn. 37042.

Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of these arrangements.
