Mr. Anthony Johnson, age 76, passed away late Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at his home in Scotts Hill. He was born August 27, 1948 in Henderson County to the late Carl and Verdean Powers Johnson. He was a U. S. Army Veteran and a retired carpenter and electrician. Mr. Johnson attended First Baptist Church in Lexington. He loved gardening, fishing, and working hard. He especially loved his family.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Mrs. Christine Johnson; his son, Jeff Emerson; his daughter, Terri Brooks-Smith (Tommy); two brothers, Denny Johnson and Joey Johnson; five grandchildren, Andrea Proudfit (Lucas), Caleb Brooks (Desiree), Justin Brooks (Amanda), Johnny Smith (Jenny), and Chad Smith (Rouella); and twelve great grandchildren, Berkley, Gracie, Caleb Jr., Kayla, Kiernan, McKenzie, Preston, Allison, Colton, Isaiah, Alyxis, and Anastasia.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM, Friday, April 18, 2025, in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow in Judson Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, 3 – 8 PM and on Friday, 12 – 2 PM.
