Annie Ruth Wise Gifford, age 77 of Belvidere passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 at her residence. She was born on October 9, 1943 in Sewanee, TN to the late J. C. Wise and Sarah Hayes Mooney Wise. She served her country in the US Marine Corps and was a retired maintenance department supervisor for Franklin County. She is survived by her husband, Bobby Gene Gifford of Belvidere; children, Patrick Gifford, Wesley Gifford, Jean Renner, all of Belvidere and Melanie Werdebaugh of Winchester, VA; brothers, Charles Leon Wise of Gulfport, MS, Nolane Wise of Arab, AL and Stanley Billard of Virginia Beach, VA; sisters, Carolyn Tocco and Dorothy (Theo) Wise of Sewanee; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5-8 Sunday at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 3 pm Monday, January 4, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro. Rayburn Steel officiating.
