Jeffrey Allen Smith, age 62 of Decherd, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021 at STRHS Winchester. A native of Franklin County, he was born in Winchester on December 5, 1958 to the late James Charles and Janette Ann Mateer Smith. He was employed for 30 years with Carrier working with sheet metal fabrication. Jeffrey enjoyed watching the Tennessee Volunteers and St. Louis Cardinals play, Sports Center, and old T.V. sitcoms. He also enjoyed listening to music and spending time working on and taking care of his flower garden and house plants. He was a kindhearted and caring man, that loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Judy Byers; and nephew, Joshua Rick Towry. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Donna Smith of Decherd; sister, Eileen (Billy) Fly of Estill Springs; nephews, Miciah (Tresa) Mankin of Estill Springs, Shaun (Michelle) Towry of Meridianville; nieces, Victoria Ann (Courtney) Fly of Tullahoma, Traci Troupe of Fayetteville, Holly Towry of New Market; and 4 legged best friends, Kricket, Thor, and Scooter. A private family graveside at Franklin Memorial Gardens will be held with Rev. Wayne Morris officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Animal Harbor.
