Angela Marie Walters, 50, of Austin, Texas, passed away on December 12, 2025, in a hospital in Austin due to medical complications. She was born on December 28, 1974, in Huntsville, Alabama.
Angela was married to the love of her life, Anthony “Tony” Cook, for 25 years. Their marriage was a constant in her life, and those who knew Angela knew how deeply she loved Tony. Many believe Tony truly saved her life during one of her darkest seasons, and their bond was one of loyalty, devotion, and unconditional love.
Angela graduated from Lee High School in Huntsville, Alabama, and went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree from The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). She was an exceptionally talented cosmetologist and was also fluent in Russian, a testament to her intelligence, discipline, and curiosity about the world.
Angela was preceded in death by her loving parents, Reginald Walters and Mary Gwen Dismuke; her grandparents, Eugene and Marjorie Dismuke; her uncles, Larry Dismuke and Ronald “Ronnie” Dismuke; her stepfather-in-law, Leon Ivy; and her stepsister-in-law, Linda Jo Ivy Doran.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony “Tony” Cook; her uncle, Robert (Jane) Dismuke of New Hope, Alabama; her aunt, Jacqueline Budd of Athens, Alabama; her mother-in-law, Carey Ivy of Killen, Alabama; her father-in-law, Jerry Cook of Nashville, Tennessee; five sisters-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and many cousins who loved her dearly.
Angela lived a life shaped by profound loss and remarkable resilience. Her father died by suicide when she was only eight years old, and she lost her mother at the age of 26. These early tragedies forged a strength in Angela that was unmistakable—she endured hardships that would have broken many, yet continued to love fiercely and live fully.
She had an eclectic taste in art and music and possessed a witty, dark, and unapologetically morbid sense of humor. She was not for the faint of heart—but to truly know Angela was to love her. Beneath her sharp wit was a deeply generous soul who would give you the shirt off her back if she believed you needed it.
Angela loved her family above all else. She adored animals, had a passion for traveling, and found joy in experiencing the world in her own unique way. She lived boldly, loved deeply, and left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Hampton Cove Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 6262 Highway 431, Owens Cross Roads, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a local animal shelter, honoring Angela’s deep love for animals.
Angela Marie Walters will be remembered for her strength, her humor, her loyalty, and her enormous heart. She will never be forgotten.
