Amy Lynn Jordan Guerriero, 47, of Owens Cross Roads, AL passed away in the arms of her loving husband, two sons, and her beloved sister on Monday, August 8, 2022, after courageously fighting breast cancer for over three and a half years. She was surrounded by her beloved family and friends during the entire journey.

Amy is survived by her husband, Jaime Guerriero, devoted partner of over 25 years, and her two adoring sons, Jacob Guerriero and Jack Guerriero. Amy is also survived by her mother, Nancy Jordan; her father, Charles Jordan (precious wife, Dora); her dedicated sister, Jennifer Jackson (husband, John); stepbrother, Patrick Cavanaugh (wife, Jessica); stepsister, Cathleen Sullivan (husband, Brandon); nephew, Christopher Taylor and two nieces, Lauren Taylor and Whitney Taylor; along with a multitude of loving extended family and supportive friends.

Amy graduated from Broadmoor High School in Baton Rouge, LA, and later received her bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. In her professional work life, Amy was a focused and dedicated leader in the defense industry for the past 12 years, most recently as a Program Manager supporting software development for the US Army.

Her cancer diagnosis in December of 2018 inspired Amy to focus her time and attention on family and friends, enjoying the great outdoors and pursuing her passion for traveling. She was a true lover of life, dabbling in vegetable gardening, savoring new cuisine (a foodie, really), exerting her ferocious aerobic routines and weight training, enjoying music, and expressing herself with writing and journaling. Amy was most comfortable investing time with family and friends, welcoming each new day with a bright outlook, rain or shine. Her passion for life and enthusiasm were contagious, and Amy mastered being present in the moment. Her beautiful brown eyes ran deep with compassion and sparkled with fun, and that glow will live on for each of us in our memories. Amy’s faith was a firm foundation to build all of her best days and experiences with those she loved. A favorite Bible verse of Amy’s was Acts 20:24… “However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me… the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.”

A Celebration of Life for Amy will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. The gathering of friends and loved ones will be held at Laughlin Service Funeral Home in Huntsville, AL.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Amy to St. Jude Children’s Hospital to further cancer research.
