Aline James, 88, of Cherokee, died Tuesday, January 3rd, 2017. Funeral service will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee with burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. preceding the funeral. Rev. Steve Slayton will officiate.
Mrs. James was born in Deep Water (Asphalt Rock) and was a member of First Baptist Church of Cherokee where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edison James; son, Steven James; and brothers, Paul Hubbard and Vernon Wilson.
She is survived by her son, William E. James, and wife Brenda; grandson, Matt James, and wife Jo-Lynn of Tuscumbia; granddaughter, Lori James of Nashville, TN; special great-grandchildren, Sarah and Will James; brother, Billy Wilson of Palm Harbor, FL; and sister, Peggy Tacker (Wayne) of Maryville, TN.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Waldrep, Dwight Hester, Jimmy Tapp, Randy Ethridge, Allen Mobley and Michael Rutland. Honorary pallbearer will be J.T. Johnson.
