Truman Earl Reeves – Obituary

Mr. Truman Earl Reeves, 85, died Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born in Chickasaw Co., MS on March 5, 1931 to Marvin Leon Reeves and Lucille Davis Reeves. He married Dorothy Faye White on June 25, 1955 and they shared 57 years together before her death on October 3, 2012. He worked in the shipping department for Blue Bell Manufacturing, enjoyed mechanics, and worked as a security guard for Futorian Furniture.
Truman was a longtime active member of Nettleton Church of Christ. He was strong in his faith and read his Bible every day. His desire was to raise his children in a Godly manner, which he did. He enjoyed playing the guitar and making music during his younger years, hunting and fishing, farming and working cattle, and going to cattle sales. He never met a stranger and enjoyed visiting with everyone. He will be missed sorely.
A service honoring his life will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 6, 2016 at the Nettleton Church of Christ with Minister Jimmy Bates and Minister Tommy Lawson officiating. A graveside service will follow at Wren Cemetery. Visitation will be today (Thursday) at the church from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to service time.]
Survivors include three sons, Wayne Reeves (Diane) of Pontotoc, Ray Reeves of Wren, and Donnie Reeves (Peggy) of Pontotoc; two daughters, Debbie Nicholson (Randy) of Wren and Lisa Holeman (Carlton) of Yazoo City; grandchildren, Jessie Reeves, Donna Reeves, Lacresia Kimrey, Adrian Shook, Earl Wayne Reeves, Jr., and Tesa Bryant; great-grandchildren, Kevin, Kimberly, Dakota, Lindsey, Jaxton, Hayden, Calan, Brinsley, and Carson, and one great-great grandchild, Matthew; a host of other near relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents; brothers Howard, Leon, and Perlis; sister, Bertha Lucille Reeves; daughter, Diane Reeves.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Thompson, Paul Waddle, Jessie Worthy, Andy Kimery, Kevin Crosby, and Jimmy Allred. Honorary pallbearer will be Brad Crawley.
