Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Jewell Pickard, age 97, will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, May 14, 2026, in the Shelton-Hunt Funeral Home Chapel with Tim Fuqua officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Three-Way, TN. Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday from 5 PM until 8 PM and Thursday from 1 PM until service time in the chapel of Shelton-Hunt Funeral Home.
Mrs. Thelma, a retired seamstress and homemaker; passed away late Friday, May 8, 2026, at Dyer Nursing Home & Rehab in Dyer, TN. She lived in and around the Humboldt, TN area since 1942. She was born July 2, 1928, in Waverly, TN – Humphreys County, TN.
Mrs. Pickard is preceded in death by her parents Jewell Evonne (Ingram) Brisentine of Waverly, TN and William Allen Brisentine of Humboldt, TN. Two brothers, Robert “Jack” Brisentine of Milan, TN and Billy Brisentine of Arizona. Her husband, G. W. “Dub” Pickard (1986) of Milan, TN, and her daughters Brenda Thelma Pickard (1947), and Della Mae Campbell both of Humboldt, TN, Bettye Marie Duncan of Trenton, TN, and her son Jerry Wayne Pickard of Milan (2024).
Mrs. Pickard is survived by three daughters; Paula Yvonne Powers and husband Clayton from Humboldt, TN, Rebecca lnez “Becky” Pickard and Mark Drumright from Dyer, TN; Emily Jane Dunn and husband Kirk of Bartlett, TN.
Mrs. Pickard is also survived by eleven grandchildren, JeriAnne Dowdy, Joscelyn Della Pickard, Melony Dawn Hudson, April Michelle Duncan, Tyler Gene Duncan, Nathan Andrew Powers, Zachary Clayton Powers, Geoffrey Richard Akers, William Derek Akers, Jennifer Kalin Dunn and Brian Seth Dunn; sixteen great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
