Sara Ruth Clinard, age 78, of Decatur, passed away peacefully at River City Nursing Home on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. She was born in Limestone County on January 11, 1948.
Sara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family deeply.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Washington Clinard; her son, Johnnie W. Clinard, Jr.; her daughter, Elizabeth Alvine Clinard; as well as two brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her son, Gerald Clinard; her grandchildren, Jonathan Clinard and Sara Clinard; her great-grandchildren, John Justice and Abella Kyle; her brother, Johnny Edward Knox; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Decatur Brown Service Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
