It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gregory Luman Harris, who departed this life on March 18, 2026, at the age of 61 in Huntsville, Alabama.
Greg was born in 1964 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Diana and Phil Harris. He spent his early years in Decatur, Alabama graduating from Decatur High School. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and cherished friend to all who came to know him.
A life defined by compassion, Greg was deeply devoted to helping others. He will be remembered his work supporting the Huntsville Crisis Help Line and for his service as a social worker at Huntsville Hospital. His love for animals and his unwavering willingness to help anyone in need were central to who he was.
Greg is survived by his brother, Bill Harris (Pam); his nieces, Amanda Blankenship (James) and Misty Fisher (Richard); and their children, Jake, Sophie, Shelby, Allison, and Aiden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Diana Halsey and Phil Harris.
A service to celebrate Greg’s life will be held in April. Friends and family will be invited to attend and share their memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.
