Martha was a special person who had a generous heart, a playful spirit and a way of making everyone around her feel welcome and loved. One of the things many of us will remember about Martha was her delicious coconut cakes. They were not just desserts – they were little pieces of love she shared with family and friends. She had a gift for making people feel cared for, whether it was through her cooking, her laughter or the time she spent with the people she loved.
Martha was simply fun to be around. She had a warm personality and a lighthearted way about her that could brighten any room. It was clear that bringing happiness to others was something she truly enjoyed.
She demonstrated kindness, patience, generosity, and humble service in her daily walk. When we think of Bible verses that remind us of Martha, we think of “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:39) and “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.” (Hebrews 13: 16).
She graduated from Colbert Heights High School. She later became a nurse, first working at the Cardiac Center at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital, then MICU at Huntsville Hospital, medical sales for KCI and finally for 26 years at Allergy and Asthma Specialists with Dr. Rebecca Raby, Dr. Heather James and staff.
A funeral service will be held at Spry Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville, Alabama on Wednesday March 11th, with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm and service to follow at 2:00 pm.
