Benny Joe Abbott, age 67, of Mt. Hope, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, Alabama. Benny was born October 28, 1958, to Clyde Aaron and Elizabeth Wilburn Abbott. He was a loving father, brother, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Moulton Heritage Funeral Home in Moulton, where the service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Benny is survived by his son, Benjamin (Kristy) Abbott; brother, Ardell (Shirley) Abbott; grandchildren, Brionna Abbott, Brittany Abbott, and Brandon Abbott; great-grandchildren, Cooper Labraney and Salem Labraney; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Abbott; brothers, Floyd Abbott and Loyd Abbott (Tooter); and his parents, Clyde and Elizabeth Abbott.
