James Christopher (Chris) Greene, age 56, passed away on February 18,2026, surrounded by his family.
Chris was born January 9, 1970, in Jackson, Tennessee to James Albert and Gail Greene.
Mr. Greene, a retired Chief of Fisheries/Fisheries Biologist for the Alabama Dept. of Wildlife & Freshwater Fisheries, had recently moved back to Trenton. He was a graduate of Peabody High School (’88), B.S. degree in Natural Resources Management from University of Tennessee at Martin (’92) and M.S. degree in Fisheries Biology from Auburn University (’95).
He was an Auburn University sports supporter, especially the games against Alabama. He was an avid outdoor sportsman who loved fishing, squirrel hunting, kayaking and growing native plants.
He was preceded in death by wife Jennifer Greene; mother, Gail Greene; maternal grandparents O.B. and Greta Milligan; and paternal grandparents, Albert and Beatrice Greene.
He is survived by his son, Colton Greene; parents James Albert and Janet Greene; a brother Mark (Bethany) Greene; two step-sisters, Lora (Jeff) Volner and Deanna (Charlie) Elgin; his nephew’s, Caleb (McKenzie) Greene and Jacob Greene; and a niece, Josi Greene.
Memorial services for Mr. Chris Greene will be held at the Trenton Church of Christ on Monday, February 23 at 2:00 pm with visitation from 11:00 am until time of service.
