Juanita P. Black Juanita P. Black passed away February 11, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, February 14 at New Horizon Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour before service time. Burial will follow in New Horizon Memorial Gardens.
Juanita was a member of Dora First Baptist Church, was Past President of the East Walker Chamber of Commerce; she was the owner of Hillview Lanes Bowling and Kountry Karpets in Sumiton. She was also a door greeter at Walmart. Juanita graduated from Dora High School and was an alumnus of The University of Montevallo.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Leslie Black, parents Ted and Testie Phillips, four sisters and one brother.
She is survived by her sons Johnny (Sharon) Black, Ryan (Kelley) Black, grandchildren Sunny Black, Jon (Ashley) Black, Logan (Briley) Black, greatgrandchildren Jad Dyke, Parx Dyke, Mary Olivia Black, Greer Elizabeth Black, sister Betty Taylor, along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
The family would like to thank Ridgeview Healthcare nurses and staff for the wonderful care they provided.
