Mr. Jeffery “Bodine” Hopkins, 68, passed away on Friday.
Mr. Hopkins was a lifelong resident of New Market, attended Buckhorn High School, and was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Madison County, where he worked for many years with District 4, Madison County Water, and District 1.
He was a simple man—laid back, easygoing, and never one for fuss. Kindhearted and giving, Jeffery was known as a true southern gentleman who treated everyone with respect and warmth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Joyce Hopkins, and his sister, Donna Hopkins.
Surviving family members include his daughter, Tristian Hopkins Adams and her spouse, Julie; his son, Adam Hopkins and his spouse, Katie; his grandchildren, Sophie and Alex; his sister, Debbie Pitts and her spouse, Ray; and his brothers, Jack Hopkins and Jimmy Hopkins and his spouse, Jeanette. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening beginning at 3:30 p.m. and continuing until the time of service at 6:30 p.m. at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be officiated by Clay Dyer.
