Doris Louise Thompson Gregory, 73, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born June 14, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois, to William “Bud” and Helen Louise Umfress Thompson. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, playing on her tablet, and taking care of her nieces and nephews.
Services will be announced in the upcoming days. McNeece-Morris Funeral home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Johnny Gregory; one sister, Deborah Vanstory of Peaceful Valley; two brothers, Joey Thompson (Sissy) of Peaceful Valley, and Jerry “Red” Thompson (Cindy) of Dorsey; her stepdaughter, Vicky White; a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Buddy Thompson, Donnie Thompson, and Tommy Thompson; one sister-in-law, Sandy Thompson; one brother-in-law, Robert Vanstory; and her parents.
