Douglas Eugene “Doug” Ray, 83, passed away Monday, January 26, 2026 at his residence. He was born in Golden, MS to Thomas Eugene Ray and Ruble Grissom Ray. Doug was owner/operator of Doug’s Barber Shop for more than sixty years. He was a member of Tremont Lions Club and formerly an active member of Gideons International.

Services will be Saturday, January 31, 2 p.m. at Red Bay Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Micah Jackson, Bro. Steve Lindsay and Bro. David Ray officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, January 31, 11-2 p.m. at Red Bay Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Golden, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Rebecca Jackson Ray; one son, Dr. Stephen Ray (Michelle); one grandson, Braden Ray; special friend, Mary Grace Storment; one brother, David Ray (Debbie) and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Glenda Ledbetter and two brothers, Jimmy Ray and Tommy Ray.

Pallbearers will be Ken Lindsey, Bobby Patterson, Terry Ray, Caleb Cody, Cully Cody and Isaiah Jackson.
