Michael Eugene Young, age 84, ascended on his Heavenly Journey from Decatur Morgan Hospital in Decatur, Alabama, on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
“A loving father and devoted husband, he filled every room with warmth, strength, and steady love that will forever live in the hearts of those he cherished.”
Michael was born on July 22, 1941, in Bridgeport, Alabama, to Earnest Eugene Young and Lois Pauline Quarles Young.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Floyd Christopher Young.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; one son, Bradford Eugene Young; two daughters, Denna Norris and Michelle Young; two step-sons, Rick Baker (Michelle) and Donald Baker; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew; along with all his wonderful friends at Westminster Assisted Living.
Per Mr. Young’s request, no formal services have been planned at this time; however, a private service will be held at a later date.
Shelton Funeral Home had the honor of assisting the family.
