Alton Ray Marbutt, 78, of Athens, AL, passed away on Tuesday, September 30th, 2025, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. Mr. Marbutt was born on December 10th, 1946, in Hackleburg, AL, to George and Annie (Evans) Marbutt.
Mr. Marbutt is survived by wife, Metra Marbutt; son, Barry Marbutt (Mandy); granddaughter, Anna Porter (Landon); and great-grandchildren, Nola Rae Porter and Ellis Porter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Annie Marbutt; wife, Clara Marbutt; and brother, Hudon Marbutt.
The funeral service will be Thursday, October 2nd, 2025, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, at 3:00 p.m., with Caleb Gooch and Bob Caudill officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, October 2nd, at the funeral home, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Eugene Marbutt, Brad Curnutt, Jeremy Marbutt, Greg Weigart, Landon Porter, and Brian Murphy. Burial will be at Evans Cemetery.
Mr. Marbutt was a loving and kind person. He was a member of Clements Baptist Church.
