Andrew Hoyt Sims, 94 of Carbon Hill, was born on March 10, 1931, and went to his heavenly home on September 16, 2025 at Walker Baptist.
There will be no services at this time.
Mr. Sims was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a man of great faith and loved going to church at West Walker Church of Christ where he was a long time member of the congregation. He worked at PEMCO (Hayes) Aircraft for 30 years as a sheet metal mechanic. After retirement he spent his day’s woodworking, gardening and spending time with his family. He never met a stranger and loved to talk and visit with friends. He had a passion for gospel and country music and he has spent the last several months listening and singing along to his favorite artist.
Mr. Sims was preceded in death by his parents Andrew Alonzo and Lorine Sims; his loving and devoted wife of 68 years, Alice Faye Sims; his son, Barry Lynn Sims; siblings, Margaret Sims, Barbara Stewart, John Lynn Sims, and Michael Sims.
He is survived by his children, Andy Sims (Cindy), Kaye Sims, Kim Wisdom (Tommy), and daughter in law, Pam Sims (Macie Clark); grandchildren, Candice Matthews (Todd), Ashley Gilbert, Brian Sims (Dede), Emily Hallman (Chase), Gunter Wisdom (Danielle); 11 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
