Vickie Holt Thornton, 65, of Elkmont, passed away on Monday, September 1st, 2025, at her residence. Born on January 30th, 1960, in Athens, Vickie was the daughter of Charles and Patricia Brooks Holt.
Vickie’s legacy lives on through her family. She is survived by her only child, Jamie Thornton, and his spouse, Stephanie. Her grandchildren, Kaden Thornton and Clayton Thornton, were her pride and joy. She is also remembered by her sisters, Charlsa Greenhaw, Sherry Murphy, Cindy Adams, and Beth Major. Her aunts, Gayle Jackson, Tammy Balch, and Virginia Wright, also hold her memory dear.
Vickie is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Patricia; her sister, Teresa McKeen; and her brother, Charlie Holt.
Vickie was a special lady with a zest for life. She enjoyed traveling to the mountains and the beach, and she loved watching football. However, her greatest love was spending time with her friends and family, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Vickie’s warmth and kindness touched the lives of many. A graveside service in honor of Vickie’s life is being planned and will be announced soon. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate her legacy and the beautiful life she lived.
Graveside service will be held at Hodges Cemetery on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
